There's a very useful piece of software I regularly use that allows you to alter the metadata fields for a file type, though it's admittedly a lot of trial and error still. You can generally only edit fields that are valid for the file type, though you can add whatever columns you want (a file without that field will just have a blank space there) mkv might have Framerate, Codec, etc.Īnd both will have Length/Duration, but a text file won't. flac (audio files) will have Artist, Album, Album Artist, etc.
